Curriculum
No two learners are the same. At The Positivity Spectrum Center our learners are supported as individuals including access to on site intervention specialists, paraprofessionals, and clinical supports. Utilizing cutting edge asynchronous approaches to meet the individual learner where they need to be met while challenging them academically, each learner has a completely custom curriculum tailored to their strengths and designed to address their weaknesses.
Examples of curriculums used at the center include Miacademy, Schoolio, and online schools such as OHDELA and Connections Academy.
Our Process
At The Positivity Spectrum Center, we believe individualized education should mean exactly that: individualized.
Our multidisciplinary team—including intervention specialists, paraprofessionals, speech-language pathologists, social workers, and BCBAs—works collaboratively with each family to understand the whole learner. We look beyond academic performance to consider communication, executive functioning, sensory needs, social-emotional development, regulation, behavior, strengths, interests, and the ways in which your child learns best.
Together, our team uses assessments, observations, family input, and ongoing data to develop a custom educational and therapeutic support plan for each learner.
There is no predetermined formula.
If assessments show that your learner would thrive with an asynchronous approach, they may complete individualized learning modules at their own pace while receiving targeted intervention support.
If they are working at different grade levels across different subjects, we meet them where they are—whether that means fifth-grade mathematics, seventh-grade reading, and third-grade written expression.
If they need direct instruction, small-group learning, hands-one experiences, movement breaks, speech and language support, behavioral support, social-emotional intervention, or a combination of approaches, we build those supports into their day.
And as your learner grows, their program grows with them.
No two students will have the same educational plan, therapeutic schedule, or approach to learning.
That’s intentional.
We aren’t trying to make every learner fit into the same program.
We’re building the program around the learner.
Because individualized education shouldn’t mean choosing from a menu of accommodations.
It should mean creating an educational experience that is Different By Design.
If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.
